Sun could go GPL3

With the Microsoft/Novell deal and also other issues that appear to be making the Linux world join together and make the GPL3 an reality even Sun's Solaris may go down the same route as GPL3.

This can only help the IT market place to have more options which in turn will allow for better competition/developement, only see what Linux has done to MS in openning up its Visual Studio development suite, this could be an happy ending to the year. With also Vista out to the business world now and to the general public next year again this can only help development and competition in the market place.
