{"id":846,"date":"2010-04-07T11:29:02","date_gmt":"2010-04-07T10:29:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.codingfriends.com\/?p=846"},"modified":"2010-04-07T11:29:02","modified_gmt":"2010-04-07T10:29:02","slug":"acid-rip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.codingfriends.com\/index.php\/2010\/04\/07\/acid-rip\/","title":{"rendered":"Acid Rip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have just been using <a href=\"http:\/\/untrepid.com\/acidrip\/\">AcidRip<\/a> to convert DVD&#8217;s into AVI files so that I can I copies of family movies in a more compressed format..  it will either use a DVD disk or a DVD image on a harddrive to convert to the required format that you want.  <\/p>\n<p>It uses <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mplayerhq.hu\/design7\/news.html\">mencoder<\/a> which is part of the mplayer suit of applications, mplayer is also a very nice movie player too, which I use mainly from the command line, but there is also a GUI for it.<\/p>\n<pre lang=\"bash\">\r\nmplayer -fs <filename>\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>would play a video in full screen (-fs) and since I do have a console window open most of the time then it is sometimes just easier to use the console to play a video. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have just been using AcidRip to convert DVD&#8217;s into AVI files so that I can I copies of family movies in a more compressed format.. it will either use a DVD disk or a DVD image on a harddrive to convert to the required format that you want.
